Amazon Extends Vuzix Smart Glasses Rollout Across the US and Canada
Vuzix Corporation announced that Amazon broadened its use of Vuzix smart glasses in North America. The latest phase includes additional orders for the M400 platform and initial OEM orders for smart glasses powered by the Ultralite Pro platform.
A Vuzix spokesperson confirmed that Amazon is the unnamed global online retailer in the announcement. Amazon expanded its rollout to the United States and Canada, following earlier deployments in Europe.
Vuzix said Amazon uses the smart glasses across a wider range of operational use cases within its logistics and infrastructure environments. The company said that Amazon continues to order its hardware for warehouse operations, where workers use hands-free access to real-time information to improve effectiveness and accuracy.
Vuzix said the devices support staff when tasks require immediate access to live data while keeping both hands free for operational work.
The company announced that the new Ultralite Pro-based OEM smart glasses will enable expansion into additional applications, including server infrastructure, warehousing, and robotics. Vuzix indicated the new platform will extend deployment to more regions, business units, and workflows.
The North American rollout marks the next stage in a programme that began with initial European deployments. Vuzix said the wider rollout shows that large-scale enterprise operations increasingly use smart glasses.
Paul Travers, president and chief executive of Vuzix, said the company provides both standard and customised AR and AI smart glasses solutions. He said this allows Vuzix to expand within existing customer operations and support wider deployment across more workflows.
Vuzix did not disclose the number of units included in the latest orders. The company described the expansion as a wider commercial rollout across multiple regions and operational use cases.
Amazon’s use of Vuzix technology now goes beyond earlier warehouse-focused deployments. The latest phase extends the smart glasses to additional areas of its logistics and infrastructure in the United States and Canada, including both existing systems and new robotics applications.
Vuzix develops and manufactures AI-powered smart glasses, waveguides, and augmented reality technologies. The company continues to position its products for enterprise environments where workers need direct access to live data while performing physical tasks. The expanded Amazon deployment shows that wide-ranging operations across North America continue to adopt wearable smart glasses.
